Company members are groups of student dancers who have enthusiasm, devotion, and an interest in dance, as well as the love to dance. Company is for the serious dancers who have a desire for a higher level of learning and expectation. These students dedicate many hours to become the strongest and most advanced in their age divisions. They have opportunities to participate in dance conventions, competitions and outside performance opportunities.
Students hoping to be a company member must first attend an audition with the Director. Specific skills will be required before they are admitted to a specific company level. This audition is formal and not easy by any means. We want our members to be extremely well rounded. Just because a student auditions, does not mean they will be chosen to participate at the company level. Sometimes more training may be needed.
Company Requirements:
Company is an eleven-month commitment. When you decide to pursue this program, then this commitment is understood. Our company members may not be enrolled at another dance studio if the are apart of our competition groups, trios, duos or solos.
Company Parents: The company family requires that you as adults support and be respectful of studio policies and procedures. Remember every child is special and deserves everyone’s respect. If you have any issues, they need to be discussed with the director privately for proper attention. When waiting in the studio you need to refrain from any negative attitudes or gossip that may create a negative atmosphere or hurt someone‘s feelings. We want a happy atmosphere for all at our studio families. We are all extended family, and want everyone to feel comfortable in our home. The lobby is small so , please feel free to leave your child and run errands if need be during their class time. We do ask that you return in a timely manner to pick up students because we do not have babysitters available if you are late. Please keep siblings under control as to not disturb the class going on or others waiting in the lobby. Students: Being a company member is a privilege and requires every ones support. Students must be dedicated, responsible, hard working, enthusiastic, and able to work well with others.
Requirements are that each student attends all company-required classes for the group in which they are chosen. Extra classes may be available if necessary or wanted.
